Why We Built This Site
Texas permits public access to many court records, but access depends on identifying the correct custodian. In Willacy County, the District Clerk is the starting point for felony and district civil or family matters. The County Clerk handles County Court misdemeanor, civil, probate, and mental-health records. Justice courts and the municipal courts in Raymondville and Lyford keep their own matters. The public LGS index and statewide re:SearchTX portal can help locate a record, but neither replaces the clerk that maintains the original. This site brings those office assignments, contact details, search routes, and copy-request cautions together.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: ways to search and interpret Willacy County criminal dockets and civil dockets
- Case lookups: how a case lookup differs across the county and statewide systems
- Record requests: where to request court records, documents, and certified copies
- Court dates and settings: how to find and confirm court dates when no standalone local calendar is available
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, independent of every Texas court, clerk, and government agency. Its limits are important:
- We cannot alter, reset, or confirm a hearing setting
- We do not issue official docket sheets, case files, or certified copies
- We cannot seal, remove, or amend a docket entry
- We do not offer legal advice about an individual matter
- We cannot promise that a fee, contact detail, or setting has not changed
An official or certified court record must come from the clerk or court that holds it. This guide can identify that office, but it cannot supply the document.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes shown on some pages. They control their services, prices, privacy practices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this site. We do not decide what the provider charges or which records its results display.
